SEQUINS AND SHEARLING AND SHINE, OH MY!

J. Crew is a brand that probably isn't recognizable to shoppers outside of the United States. They are an American retailer that started out in the early 80's specializing in American heritage-type clothing. Many would argue that J. Crew is an "overpriced GAP," however I think that may be a bit unfair. I've always found their clothing to be of great quality, and their stores are always my go-to place when I'm in need of those timeless preppy basics—think WASP-y crisp button down shirts, cashmere pullovers, or their giraffe print shorts which were a huge hit on the internet a couple seasons back.

J. Crew recently started a much higher-end line—"couture-quality designs," according to their website—titled J. Crew Collection. The collection is a limited edition, seasonally updated range featuring very luxurious details, and priced anywhere from $128 USD for a pencil skirt all the way up to $1850 USD for a shearling jacket. Visit J. Crew to view the entire range.

Here are my favorite pieces from their Fall 2010 lookbook.
